NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING All citizens of Polk County, North Carolina, shall please TAKE NOTICE that a Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 1990 at 7:30 o’clock P.M., IN THE Courtroom of the Polk County Courthouse, in Columbus, North Carolina. The subject matter of said Public Hearing shall be the proposal concerning whether an area of Polk County consisting of approximately 840 acres, generally known as a portion of the “Oak Ridge — Skyuka” area of Columbus, shall be zoned and/or rezoned Residential Estate/Low Density District — One (RE-1). The area of Polk County under consideration is generally bounded on the Southeast by the Columbus Town Limits, on the South of Interstate Highway I-26, on the West by the lands of Jack Story, on the North by White Oak Mountain Development and on the East by Houston Road. A small portion of the area is presently zoned Residential (R) and the remaining portion of the property is presently unzoned. A detailed map of the area is available in the Office of the Polk County Zoning Administrator in the Courthouse Annex in Columbus, North Carolina. There is also available for inspection in the Office of the Polk County Zoning Administrator a copy of the Polk County Zoning Ordinance and the Petition submitted by the majority of the landowners residing within the areas to be zoned and/or rczoned. Comments will be heard at the stated time and place by the Polk County Board of Comissioners. After the Public Hearing, the Board of Commissioners may at its next regular monthly session, but is not required to, enter into deliberations concerning the subject matter of the Public Hearing and may or may not take action to zone and/or rczone the subject area. This Notice shall be published, posted and mailed to the affected landowners pursuant to North Carolina General Statutes, Section 153A-323 and 153A-343 and Section 9.1 of the Polk County Zoning Ordinance.
